Welcome. I am madame Penelope Von Meretrix, a switch in Portland, Oregon. I have the privilege of serving, and serving at the pleasure of, Mistress Viola Parker - visit her site here. I serve Mistress Viola as a submissive, and have the great privilege of joining Mistress as one of her Domina proteges (in training :D)

This blog is an opportunity to share my training, our sessions and this and that.

A little backstory - becoming the madame

Meeting Mistress Viola, coming into her service, was a revelation. It gave me a sense of belonging; true, authentic belonging. Mistress Viola saw something and encouraged me to embrace and to step into my dominance.

As madame Penelope I enjoy the emotional and intellectual exploration of Dominance and submission: the anticipation, how to gauge and guide reaction, remaining a step -- or three -- ahead, pushing a submissive further into their submission. And I greatly enjoy meting out discipline...while not cruel I will confess to a bit of a mean streak (I can make a point with a paddle…muah) Necessary of course — to keep a submissive from going feral, don’t you think?

I especially enjoy classic implements: a strap, a ruler, a cane, a riding crop to name just a few. Things that function in the every day but can be repurposed for use - a flat hairbrush. A pair of black leather gloves. The fear that fills a submissive's mind and heart simply with a few words and my seemingly empathetic approach -- as an experienced submissive myself -- swinging a cane idly in full view of a sub, watching them, sizing them up, patiently waiting and then striking. Slowly, sensually, encouraging a submissive to surrender, confessing their deepest desires, eager to please and to obey.

headstrong - preview (more in the blog here)

There were rumors that several faculty members had approached the Headmistress expressing concerns about the madame and her methods. The madame had summarily dismissed this as nothing more than chatter from a small segment of the Institute; older instructors who were jealous of the madame's power. The madame had been quite effective, even if her methods were...unorthodox.

The look on Headmistress's face said it all -- scarlett was in more trouble than ever.

The plan sounded so easy; scarlett, still on probation, had to clean Headmistress's office weekly. Surely, there were things that scarlett could look through without being discovered. Except scarlett didn't count on the madame stepping into Headmistress's office to retrieve a file for the faculty meeting that was going on. scarlett, frightened, dropped the papers she was looking at and fled -- running into the woods as fast as she could. The madame vowed that scarlett would be severely dealt with.

beginnings - how madame Penelope Von Meretrix came to Viola Parker's Institute for Excellence in Young Women - preview (more in the blog here)

Like some demented Mary Poppins, as the Institute's head of Standards, Code, and Discipline, madame Penelope had established an order and discipline across campus; delivered without the spoonful of sugar. Astrid was unimpressed. After earning more than one too many reprimands and warnings that she would have to face the madame, Astrid welcomed the challenge -- she would very much like to know this madame for herself. Her wish was soon granted.

scarlett and the conspiracy - preview (more in the blog here)

scarlett was nervous, she always got a very active set of butterflies when meeting with Headmistress Viola Parker. Being summoned to her office, scarlett shifted on her feet nervously at the door; she had a moment of wanting to run away into the woods, but she took a deep breath and knocked, how bad could it be?

Beyond bad, with a capital B. Standing there, next to Headmistress Parker was madame Penelope; Headmistress's demonic little servant. The butterflies froze in her stomach and crashed together. This was not at all what scarlett was expecting.

the transformation of madame Penelope Von Meretrix - preview (more in the blog here)

penelope had been all that Headmistress Viola Parker had hoped, and more, for the Institute. She was proud of her protege; madame Penelope's ruthlessness, relentlessness, and aura had brought a new feeling of order to the Institute just as Headmistress wished. The madame had an uncanny knack for getting just what she wanted -- the results the madame had already achieved were impressive; even if one had to look past some of her methods.

scarlett faces consequences - preview (more in the blog here)

A scandal brews at the Parker Institute for Excellence in Young Women. There have been accusations of a ring of students stealing and selling content and test answers. This is the kind of scandal that can give the Institute a black eye, or even worse, bring it all crashing down -- despite its impeccable track record of producing young women ready to take on the world successfully. Headmistress Viola Parker, seeking to stem the situation before there is even a hint of scandal, brings madame Penelope, her protege and the head of the Institute's Standards, Code, and Discipline Department, in to participate in the investigation and interrogation of the six young women identified as having participated…

scarlett meets the madame - preview (more in the blog here)

scarlett was nervous as she stood in front of Headmistress Viola Parker's office door. She knew that she was not there for a social call -- no one was ever summoned to Headmistress's office to socialize; Headmistress Parker held court in a lush, open room at her eponymous school.

No, a summons to the Headmistress's office meant trouble. How much -- the answer was behind the door. s knew that she couldn't dawdle. Being tardy would only make things worse. scarlett would be meeting someone new, madame Penelope. Who?! Already on edge before the Headmistress, scarlett froze: eyes wide, as a petite figure, dressed in all black, appeared as if out of thin air. scarlett shivered - a cold feeling taking hold.

Lesson Learned - preview (more in the blog here)

I will not snoop. I will not gossip. I will not conspire. scarlett, kneeling, heard the words and recognized that each was a reminder; and a painful one at that. scarlett was going to learn a lesson that she would not forget. Not if Headmistress, and especially the Madame, had any say in it…

madame adores paper and pens. There is something so satisfying about writing things out, especially my devious and diabolical plans for corrective action of naughty girls.

I believe in the use of fine fountain pens. My two favorites? Sailor, from Japan and Kaweco, from Germany. Each are long standing brands and are delightful writing instruments. I currently use a Sailor 1911L with a fine nib for daily writing and carry a Kaweco Sport with a medium nib (as a back-up naturally)

update: you simply have not lived until you have had your favorite fountain pen tuned and smoothed. Who knew?! I recently acquired a new pen and the seller was able to tune and smooth the nib before sending; it has been a life changing experience.

Paper is also very important. I have used, and recommend, the notebooks made by Nomatic, but two fine alternatives are the classic Field Notes and Leuchtturm 1917. And, yes, of course, I use personalized, small batch stationary for my written correspondence. There’s nothing quite like a hand-written note, especially in today’s day and age.
